MEN FROM S.P.E.C.T.R.E.
Awesome news. The freaky groovy Swiss fellas will release their 3rd album in October on HammondBeat. Check the dope cover artwork. Investigate more on their website.
Incredible 60s styled freakbeat outfit from France. Off the hook. Just bought one of their singles off eBay while looking through the sellers list. Then googled their name & found their myspace site here. Just listen to Sitaramania & become a convert. Has a bit of a 'Lonely People' vibe, but check those drums!!! I hijacked the audio into an MP3 for you.
This clip for Nancy & Lee's classic tune comes from Ms.Sinatra's most excellent high-camp television special from 1967, "Movin' With Nancy". Worth seeking out on dvd (get it here)
Originally only a live band that played homage to some cult films of yesteryear. Started by some soundtrack collectors & now ending up as a recording band. They have released their debut album with only original tracks & not a recreation in sight. The album Silenzio Violento is pretty solid. It'd have to be after so many years getting the feel & atmosphere right of perfoming gems such as Theme from Mothra, Deadlock, Space 1999. Arabesque, Six Million Dollar Man, 10th Victim, The Liquidator, Mannix, Enter the Dragon, Bullit, etc...
Lead singer Drieky Caprice definitely has that worldess vocal thing going on. Came out last October, but I only manged to get the album recently from Amazon.
The ultimate DVD release came out on June 13th 2006. And its a killer edition. The print is the best i've seen & it's a joy to experience. Get a room full of friends & watch, cause it's a hoot. The opinions on the film are divided, but many like myself reckon it's easily Russ Meyer's most ambitious film & if anything, it cannot be accused of being boring. It may be a chaotically arranged shambles at time, but underneath it all, it has layers upon layers & subtext within its technicolour pandemonium.

As for us? Well, we all have an appreciation for Hip Hop, crate digging, cult films & beyond... We also have 4 different radio shows on 2SER & FBi in Sydney, Australia. We also dabble in making beats from time to time.
