Tragedy: Chik A Boom Cancelled
It is with a heavy heart that we must apologise for the cancellation of our first party tonight in Surry Hills. We are still trying to contact as many people as we can on the phone and on the radio etc. (it's only an hour or so since we went to the venue and were told the bad news by the proprioter). Suffice to say, it was completely out of our hands and we want to apologise to anyone who travelled to Surry Hills to join the fun that never happened.
Saturday: After attempting to phone as many people as possible as well as announcing our cancellation last night on FBi, 2SER and Triple J, we realise that not everyone would have been informed of the party's cancellation. We know that many of you left your homes in good faith and got cabs or public transport to Surry Hills only to discover that there was no event.
We were as shocked as you would have no doubt been, when we turned up with a load of tunes and dvd's to play only to be notified by the kindhearted manager that he had recieved an injunction only half an hour earlier to cease the event or face legal action.
For any inconvienience caused to you or any of your friends, we can only offer our sincerest apologies and hope that when we relocate in the future that you all will still support us again and come along. This massive disappointment is nothing we could have avoided, as it was neither the fault of the venue or ourselves and was a council matter that went beyond the control of all involved. Again we are sorry, and hope to see you all soon.
Please feel free to leave any feedback here and we will get back to you.
yours sincerely,
The Chik A Boom Crew.
